For the 3rd week in a row, I hope we’re all safe and not sorry during this crisis. Unfortunately this week we did lose a musical pioneer, Manu Dibango. I can remember as a teenager in NYC hearing “Soul Makossa” for the first time and besides being blown away, I realized music was truly universal. (more…)

They always say that kids can be brutally honest and have no filter. The kids who danced at the Funhouse were just like that for a lot of artists who performed on stage. I can remember telling Loleatta Holloway before she went on stage to be prepared for a few boos. (more…)
